The presentation examined a key constraint in the advancement of cell therapies: the ability to achieve scalable, reproducible, and economically viable manufacturing. As the field transitions from early-stage research to clinical and commercial implementation, manufacturing robustness and process standardisation are becoming defining factors for success.
Dr. Yan outlined CytoNiche’s integrated approach to large-scale mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) manufacturing, combining 3D FloTrix™ technology, dissolvable microcarriers, and automated workflows. This platform-based strategy not only enhances process consistency and scalability, but also addresses downstream processing limitations by enabling simplified cell harvest and reduced process variability.
