Keynote — Beginning with the End in Mind, Aligning CMC Decisions with Commercialization Strategy

CytoNiche Biotech Co-Founder & CTO, Dr. Yan Xiaojun, shared on how an innovation in dissolvable microcarriers affected the CMC strategies for commercial scale MSC manufacturing, which in turned affected the pricing strategy of the latest approved MSC therapy from China.

ATMP Roundtable — De-risking Scale-Up

During the Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) roundtable, participants discussed practical levers for successful scale-up and commercialization, as well as including:

How developing an innovative dissolvable microcarrier is very much like developing a new therapy, beginning with the end in mind really helped to accelerate the adoption of this novel product in clinical and commercial stages of drug production;
How current biologic manufacturing infrastructure, technology and experiences could easily be transferable to exosome production if designed as a drug delivery vehicle;
How CMC and quality control for exosome as a therapeutic product on its own are much more complicated and could be “double-work” as quality of the host cell affects the quality of therapeutic exosomes produced.

Women in Pharma Luncheon — Leadership & Inclusion

CytoNiche also joined the Women in Pharma Luncheon, contributing perspectives on “Balancing Ambition and Well-being: How Do We Evolve with Shifting Priorities in Career and Life?” Discussions emphasized:
